Fred Water Flasks were designed for refilling and we just recently came across a product that makes cleaning them super easy.  Checkout BOTTLE BRIGHT effervescent cleaning tablets (for sale on Amazon). They work amazingly well in just a few minutes and they're chemical free.

Fred Water plastic bottles will deform in the dishwasher.  Fred Water stainless steel bottles are dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing the color coated bottles.

Using Dish Soap

• Step 1:

  Wash your Fred bottle and cap inside and out with a small amount of warm, soapy water.

• Step 2:

  Rinse away soap with cool water.

• Step 3:

  Dry completely. For our plastic bottles, we recommend rotating between bottles and leaving the unused bottle uncapped so it dries out.

• Step 4:

  Reach your hand around to your back and pat gently. By reusing Fred bottles, you've done a great thing for your body and for the planet.
